Emergency Medical and Support Center in Al-Khums Rescues Migrants and Provides Urgent Medical Care

As part of an urgent humanitarian response, the Emergency Medical and Support Center – Al-Khums Office initiated an immediate intervention on Saturday, 17 January 2026, following a report received from the Coast Guard Authority and Al-Khums Seaport regarding a disabled irregular migration boat off the port, which was at risk of sinking.

In coordination with the relevant security authorities, all individuals on board were successfully rescued and safely transferred to Al-Khums Port. The center conducted medical examinations for 99 individuals of African and Arab nationalities, including women and children.

Medical care and treatment were provided to 77 cases, including 12 children, 20 women, and 45 men. The reported conditions ranged from high fever, cough, and headaches, in addition to four cases of various fractures.
