In a search campaign along the eastern valleys of the city of Derna, 32 bags of human remains were recovered. These are victims of the Eastern Region flood disaster on Friday, October 27, 2023, by the 16th Team (“Diving Unit”), the 5th, 6th, and 9th Teams, the 14th Team (“Disinfection”), and the Deployment Team with body transport vehicles.
This operation was conducted in cooperation with the 128th Battalion, Al-Tawhid Battalion, the Naval Special Forces (Frogmen), and over 150 volunteers from various parts of the eastern region who organized a voluntary search campaign in the valleys.
The bags containing the remains were transferred to Al-Wehda Surgical Hospital to complete burial procedures. We ask Almighty God to accept them among the martyrs.
