As part of the academic partnership between the Emergency Medicine and Support Center and UniCamillus International Medical University in Italy, the academic Master’s program in Emergency & Accidents Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery has officially commenced in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, with the participation of a select group of Libyan doctors enrolled in this advanced professional track.
The participating physicians are attending intensive in-person lectures delivered by expert professors and specialized physicians from Italy. The initial sessions have covered advanced topics in the diagnosis and management of Emergency & Accidents injuries, including modern approaches to fracture treatment and the handling of critical orthopedic emergencies.
In parallel, the Libyan trainees have begun hands-on clinical training in local hospitals, in coordination with emergency and orthopedic departments. This training includes key skills such as initial stabilization techniques, assessment of multi-trauma cases, and rapid response protocols for emergency situations. This phase marks the first stage of the program, which will later continue with clinical rotations in advanced medical centers in Italy.
This program represents a significant step toward building highly qualified Libyan medical professionals, equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in line with top European standards. It also contributes directly to the enhancement of emergency care and orthopedic services within the Libyan healthcare system.
