In collaboration with a visiting medical team from Italy, the medical staff at the Emergency Medicine and Support Center successfully saved a young man through a rare and complex surgical procedure after he ingested acid, which caused severe burns and damage to parts of his esophagus.
The patient underwent a delicate operation known medically as an “Esophageal-Colonic-Gastric Bypass behind the Sternum.” The surgery was successful, and his condition is now stable and relatively good.
