Assessment Visit to Ubari General Hospital to Strengthen Healthcare Services in Southwest Libya

As part of its ongoing field missions to support the healthcare sector in southern regions, the Emergency Medicine and Support Center dispatched a specialized team to southwest Libya, specifically to the city of Ubari, located 978 kilometers from the capital, Tripoli.

The team conducted an assessment visit to Ubari General Hospital, focusing on evaluating the current state of healthcare services and the hospital’s readiness in terms of medical and technical capabilities. The visit also aimed to identify the hospital’s most pressing needs to enhance its ability to serve the local population.

During the visit, meetings were held with the municipal council, hospital administration, and several local stakeholders. Discussions centered on ways to support the facility and set intervention priorities, including maintenance work, provision of medical and paramedical staff, administrative personnel, as well as supplying essential equipment and medications.

These efforts are part of a broader plan to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services in the region.
