Field Visit to Duke University Hospital to Explore Best Practices in Crisis and Disaster Management

As part of their training program in the United States, trainees from the Emergency Medicine and Support Center traveled to the state of North Carolina, where they conducted a field visit to Duke University Hospital. one of the region’s leading academic medical centers.

The trainees were accompanied by the hospital’s Chief of Police on a guided tour through various departments, during which they were introduced to safety systems, medical equipment, and critical care management protocols.

They also met with the hospital’s Emergency Management Department, where they were briefed on the department’s real-world response to Hurricane Helen, which struck the state in September 2024. Discussions covered preparedness measures, coordination strategies, and rapid response mechanisms for emergencies and natural disasters.
